Layer Styles In Photoshop: Colorful Lollipops

Layer Styles In Photoshop: Colorful Lollipops

This piece was made in a bunch of steps in Photoshop using layer styles and the distort > twirl filter under Photoshop's filter menu.  Each lollipop type was first created in a separate graphic.  A airbrush of contrasting shades of the same hue or reasonably close tints were applied in a all over composition.  Then the distort > twirl filter was added.  Then I cut out a circle using select and shapes tool. I made a new image 4500 x 6500 px 300dpi. that is roughly the size i first work in.  I made about five layers and began pasting individual lollipops of various colors on different levels.  I had a striped layer style that I really can't remember how I applied it to the swirl.  That part has me stumped.  have to look up a tutorial I guess.  After each of your five layers is sufficiently random being careful not to have lollipops overlap on their own layers, begin applying layer styles to each layer, bevel and emboss with rounded edges and drop shadow as well as inner shadow.  Flood fill a bottom layer with your color of choice and you have a colorful lollipops collage.  This is a fun carnival like image suitable for lots of stuff.  Sold on Zazzle a few times over the years.  Just designed a bunch of Kin Custom clothing.  Looks great.
