Darling,

This has been one hellish week so far.   More damn rumors and no straight dope.  The schedule has been resumed and we fly every other day now.  We have a fourteen hour flight tomorrow.  I don’t feel very enthusiastic about my future. 

      A lot of the gang are getting out within a month.  A second LT. needs 42 points and some of the fellows have kids.  At 12 pts. For each kid they’re a cinch.  I have 36 pts.  Boy what any offspring would do for me now.  Oh well, such is life.

     Radar happens to be number one on the critical list too.  If I get stuck in the Occupational Air Force we’ll have to change some things.  I could be over there for a couple of years.  It’s funny for the last three years I wanted to go over and now that it’s over I don’t want to so I probably will.  All in all it’s a king size snafu.  My military career has been quaint!   To hell with me and to hell with the army.

     Ain’t heard from you since Sunday.  I’m dying to hear your comments on my picture.  Keep em mild - no profanity! 

     According to the grapevine Myles got stinks V. J. Day.   I’ll bet he’s in the doghouse. 

      The paper gave the results of the atomic bomb last night. My God!

      Did you know that Sherlock Holmes was named after Oliver Wendel Holmes.  Well he was.  Also A.C. Doyle’s comment was “he stinks” ain’t that amazing? 

What have you been up to lately?It seems like ages since you’ve had one of your adventures.  Gee whiz, don’t you go peaceful on me.

      What the devil am I going to do with the third picture?  I’ve tried to lose it but someone always finds it and brings it back.  How about making a jig saw puzzle out of it? 

     A funny thing happened this afternoon.  The mess hall burned down a little bit.  We had a strange supper.  Dill pickles, cheese, corn, salad dressing, plumbs, chocolate pudding, peach sundaes and tomato juice.  I don’t think I feel very well. 

      If you happen to run into a fortune teller with a crystal ball take a look into the future and see what cooks.  That seems to be as good a way as any.

      Gonna try and catch some shut eye.  0200 crawls around with great speed.
